What happens to our regulars and their data?

Your guest list and reservation history are exported in full from Quandoo and moved into the new system. Before cutover we verify that every record arrived. You keep access to your guests, only the system underneath changes.

Do we have to choose between resmio and aleno?

Yes, it comes down to one of the two. After our first conversation we recommend the system that fits your operation: resmio for straightforward setups up to roughly 60 covers, aleno for more complex service rules, larger venues, and fine dining. The decision is yours, we provide a recommendation with reasoning.

What if something goes wrong during the switch?

We don't shut Quandoo off until the new system has run stable for 72 hours. During the parallel phase we can revert at any time. We schedule the go-live for a Monday afternoon, the quietest point of the week. If anything comes up in the first two weeks, we're reachable directly by phone and WhatsApp.

Will we lose bookings that used to come through Quandoo?

Quandoo brought bookings through two channels: “Reserve with Google” and its own platform. We reconnect the Google channel to your new system, so those bookings stay with you. Quandoo's own discovery channel disappears for everyone, because the platform shuts down. We'll talk through whether OpenTable or another visibility strategy makes sense for you.

What does the new system cost to run?

You pay the software fee directly to resmio or aleno. Depending on the plan, this runs roughly €59 to €249 per month. We don't resell software and we don't take a hidden margin on the SaaS price. Our fixed price covers our migration work only.

Do we need the optional care retainer?

No. The fixed price includes everything needed for a clean running system. The retainer is for restaurants that don't have anyone in-house to handle software questions, service-rule changes, or seasonal updates afterwards. You can add it later at any time.

How late can we still book?

We accept bookings up to mid-September. After that, migrations get tight and the risk to your service goes up. If you're unsure whether the timing still works, get in touch. We'll tell you honestly whether we can hold the date.

Who actually does the work on site?

Halfsquare is a small Berlin team. We're based in Berlin, we come to your restaurant in person, and the same point of contact takes you from briefing to go-live. No call center, no subcontractors.

The Problem

On 31 March 2026, Quandoo announced that the platform will be switched off on 30 September 2026. From that day, your website booking form, your “Reserve with Google” link, and your guest communications all stop working. Anyone who hasn’t migrated by then takes reservations on a phone and a notepad, in the middle of autumn season.

Berlin restaurants are disproportionately affected because Quandoo is headquartered here. Hundreds of operations in the city face the same task, at the same time, against the same deadline. The reality in most kitchens: you don’t have the time to pick the right replacement software, the hours to transfer guest data manually, rebuild service rules, swap the widget on your website, and train your team on a new system. And you need all of it done before someone at the host stand notices the confirmation emails aren’t going out.

Postponing the switch to September means rushing it. Your regulars will feel that.
